Immerse yourself in nature in Buhoma, neighbouring the impenetrable forest of Bwindi, famous for its mountain gorillas. At the lodge you can have beautiful views of the forest, birds, and other species that inhabit in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and of course the gorillas.

The founder and the team behind Gorilla Bluff Lodge is passionate about nature and hospitality. Gordon Kwikiriza, the founder of Gorilla Bluff Lodge was born and raised in Nkwenda a village in Buhoma where the park headquarters are located. The remoteness and location of the village and its unique attractions and treasures have been a backbone of his education and exposure to several infrastructure, community development and programs that have equipped him with the ability and zeal to develop his community and improve the lives of the people living in the area while putting their skills and talents to work thus enabling them to benefit from tourism and his education.

While in high school, Gordon established Bwindi Crafts Shop in which he employed several skilled young boys and girls who weaved baskets and also made beautiful wooden souvenirs for the tourists and other people who visit this tourist destination to buy thus bringing revenue to the community. After attaining his degree Gordon started putting his dream of owning an accommodation facility in his village into reality.

In 2020 he started building Gorilla Bluff Lodge, an affordable lodge situated on a hill overlooking the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. The lodge so far has four rooms (3 standard rooms and one self-contained banda/cottage) which can accommodate 9 guests per night. Since the establishment of the craft shop and Gorilla Bluff Lodge, Gordon has engaged the community by empowering the youth with art and craft making skills which earn them income and also keeps them out of crime and drug abuse. He also supports the local farmers who supply fruits, vegetables, fish, among others which are consumed by the guests.

Gordon is also a knowledgeable and professional safari guide. He has been to Uganda’s main national parks and game reserves and his knowledge about mountain gorillas is great. He is available and ready to guide and drive you showing you the beautiful Uganda.

Gorilla Bluff Lodge is just 5 minutes away from the gorilla tracking briefing point. It is therefore a perfect place to stay for a gorilla tracking safari.

We have a main house and dining, and space for further expansion with outstanding views of the surroundings, the impenetrable forest of Bwindi, among others, serving homemade meals and freshly-baked bread.
